The VEV Process

Four steps to a higher rating.

No 200-page how-to guides. No legal jargon. A coach who's been exactly where you are walks you through the only four steps that actually move your rating.

01

Create Your Account

Submit your free intake — under two minutes. We review your service history, current rating, and goals so we can match you with a coach who has been exactly where you are.

02

Build Your Claim

Your dedicated VEV coach walks you through every condition, every form, and every piece of evidence the VA actually weighs — line by line, until your claim is airtight.

03

Independent Medical Evaluation

Skip the rushed, dismissive C&P exam. We coordinate evaluations through our trusted national doctor network — practitioners who actually take the time to document what's wrong with you.

04

Favorable VA Decision

We stay with you through submission, follow-up, and final decision. Most veterans we coach see a favorable outcome — and a meaningfully higher monthly check.

Already Rated?

Increase Your Existing VA Rating

Already drawing VA disability and feel like you're underrated? You almost certainly are. Most veterans rated 30 to 80 percent have additional service-connected conditions that have never been claimed, secondary conditions tied to existing disabilities, or worsening symptoms that warrant a higher rating. Our coaches walk you through every claim type — secondary conditions, individual unemployability, P&T — and show you exactly which evidence the VA needs to bump you up. Veterans we educate see an average increase of $800 per month, often within four months.

  • Secondary-condition claims tied to your service-connected disabilities
  • Increase claims for worsened or new symptoms
  • Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability (TDIU)
  • Permanent & Total (P&T) and 100% schedular evaluations

Never Filed?

Establish Initial Service Connection

According to the VA, more than 10 million eligible veterans have never claimed a single dollar of the VA disability they earned. If you've been telling yourself "my injuries weren't bad enough" or "I don't want to deal with the paperwork," you are leaving money — and medical care — on the table. We coach you through your first claim end-to-end: pulling the right service treatment records, documenting nexus, identifying every condition tied to your service, and avoiding the rookie mistakes that get first-time claims denied. Most clients are shocked at what actually qualifies.

  • First-time VA disability claims — start to favorable decision
  • Service treatment records review and nexus documentation
  • Presumptive conditions (PACT Act, burn pits, Gulf War, Agent Orange)
  • Mental health claims (PTSD, depression, anxiety) — service-connected

Denied or Lowballed?

Appeal a Denied or Lowball Decision

A VA denial is not the end of the road — it is a paperwork problem with a fixable root cause. Most denials we see come from missing nexus letters, weak C&P exam reports, or a claim filed under the wrong evidentiary lane. We help you read your decision letter, identify the exact reason the VA rejected the claim, and rebuild it with the right supplemental evidence, the right form, and the right path: Higher-Level Review, Supplemental Claim, or Board appeal. Veterans who came to us after years of denials routinely walk away with the rating they should have had on day one.

  • Decision letter review — the real reason your claim was denied
  • Higher-Level Review and Supplemental Claim strategy
  • Notice of Disagreement and Board of Veterans' Appeals path
  • Coordinated medical evidence to fix prior gaps

Why Veterans Choose VEV

We've been there. That's the difference.

Most VA-claim companies are run by attorneys who never served. We're run by combat veterans who fought their own claims, won, and now teach you to do the same.

Veteran-owned. Veteran-operated. Veteran-coached.

Every coach on our team is a combat veteran who fought their own claim and won. We've been on hold with the VA. We've been denied. We've been lowballed. That experience is not something an outside attorney can fake.

Risk-free — you only pay when you get paid.

We don't charge upfront fees and we don't charge if your rating doesn't go up. Our compensation is tied to your outcome, not to the hours we bill. If we can't get you more, you owe us nothing.

Trusted national doctor network.

Inconvenient, dismissive C&P exams sink more claims than any other single factor. Our independent medical network exists specifically to give you a fair, thorough evaluation that the VA can't ignore.

We educate — we don't hand it off.

VA representation is a black box at most law firms. With us, you understand exactly what's being filed and why. That knowledge stays with you for life and protects every future claim you file.

Robert Pinero, Founder & Head Coach — the VEV team

Meet the Founder

Founded by a Marine. Run by veterans.

Robert Pinero enlisted in the Marine Corps straight out of high school in 2002. He served two combat deployments — Kuwait, Iraq, and Fallujah — then came home to a battle of a different kind. He was turned away by 15 VA attorneys before deciding to study the VA claims process himself.

He didn't just secure his own 100% rating. He helped his brother do the same. Then a friend. Then ten more veterans. That's when Veterans Educating Veterans was born — and the team has grown to include James LeFever (Marine, OIF II/VII/VIII, 100% P&T), Cody Cratsenburg (Army, Afghanistan), and a network of coaches who have all walked the road they'll walk you down.

When you work with VEV, you're not hiring an attorney. You're joining a brotherhood of veterans helping each other claim what we earned.

Real Veterans, Real Wins

From stuck at 60% to 100% in weeks.

Eight years fighting the VA on my own. Robert and the VEV team got me to 100% in one shot. Every veteran I know hears my story now — don't fight this alone.

70% for years. The VA kept stalling. After working with VEV I hit 100% in just a few weeks. They knew exactly which documents I had been missing the whole time.

I was the guy stuck in the maze. VEV got me to 100% Permanent & Total. I came back to coach for them — that's how much it changed my life.

Honest Answers

Questions, before you start.

Neither. We are a veteran-owned coaching and education company. We don't file your claim for you — we teach you exactly how to file it, what evidence the VA weighs, and how to avoid the mistakes that get claims denied. The claim is yours, the knowledge is yours, the rating is yours.

Risk-free. You only pay when you get paid — meaning we are only compensated if your VA rating actually goes up. No upfront fees, no hourly billing, no surprise invoices. If we can't get you a favorable decision, you owe us nothing.

Often we can route you through our trusted independent medical network instead of the standard VA C&P exam — practitioners who take the time to fully document your conditions. When a C&P is unavoidable, we prepare you for it so you walk in knowing exactly what to expect.

Denials are fixable. The vast majority we see come down to missing evidence, the wrong nexus, or filing under the wrong VA lane. We review your decision letter, identify the exact gap, and rebuild the claim through Higher-Level Review, Supplemental Claim, or Board appeal — whichever is the right path for your situation.

Not necessarily. Working does not disqualify most disability claims, including increase claims and presumptive conditions. It does affect specific paths like TDIU. We'll walk you through your options and structure your claim for the strongest possible outcome based on your actual situation.

Most veterans we coach see a favorable VA decision within roughly four months from intake to award letter. Some are faster, some slower — VA backlogs vary. What we control is the quality and completeness of the claim, which is the single biggest factor in turnaround time.

We work with veterans of every era. The ad campaign that brought you here is targeted to veterans roughly 25 to 65 — peak claim-eligibility years — but we coach veterans of all ages, including older veterans pursuing presumptive PACT Act, Agent Orange, and Gulf War conditions.
